Suranne Jones

Sarah Anne Jones (also known as Suranne Jones) is an English actor and producer. The actress has earned fame playing the role of Ruth Slater in the miniseries "Unforgiven," as Detective Rachel Bailey in the police procedural drama 'Scott & Bailey', and the GP Gemma Foster in the medical drama "Doctor Foster". The actress is originally from Chadderton, Greater Manchester, Jones was a member of in the Oldham Theatre Workshop and received her BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts at the Oldham Theatre Workshop. She began performing on stage as a child at eight years old, portraying Gloria in a production of "Wait Until Dark". In 1997 she made her acting debut on the screen with a 'Coronation Street' episode. She was in 2000 as Karen McDonald in the series. Following her departure from the ITV soap opera, she was cast in various roles in TV programs like 'Vincent "Strictly Confidential" as well as "Harley Street.".
